Story of a lost mobile and my strenuous struggle to get it back

nokia_n70_music.jpg      junior-vikatan.jpg      I was thinking to write about my mobile theft long time ago. Everyone has to know about this adventurous story. Literally I would call it as a battle. This is an interesting one you should know. I lost my mobile on April 2007 in my friends room. I had a small nap and my mobile was gone!

I had a small hunch in my mind saying that my mobile didn’t go away from me. You could feel it rather than explaining it. I waited for a day so that I can investigate the local guys and maid who were there that morning. The next day I launched a complain in nearby police station. Wow, they took my complaint as if they gonna act fast. That was the time I shifted my carrier from ITES to IT. New office, new surrounding, colleagues. I couldn’t show how I missed my mobile. My mom missed my mobile more than me.

I had installed a software (anti-theft) in my mobile which will warn when a sim card is changed in my mobile. You can simply call it as daddy of Mobile tracking systems which was later introduced in samsung mobiles. I didn’t get any warning message. I was giving up my hope day by day. 10 days later, my sister got a message from my software! oooww. I was happy that I got the entire details of the person who was using my mobile. This is where the damn problem started. I made a stupid act by contacting the police station where I logged in my complaint.

I had all the details of the person. How come? I called up the number which I recieved from my software and spoke as an executive of a private bank. Simple, I got the details. If a person says to you like “Dude, you have a work to do. I have completed 95% of it. All you need is to verify and execute”. Will you take this shot or not? If I was given that chance, I would definetly take it. But when I stepped into the station, I was bribbed rs50 for water bottle. Then they took my complaint (duplicate copy which I had as they lost my org).

I was insisting them continuously that I have all the details and you need to just grab my mobile from the person on their way. They told all crap reasons for me and I was highly frustrated bcoz I was recieving alerts from my sister. I gave up my hope as they were expecting huge amount as bribe. Then my saviour came. His name is Gnani, a journalist for the past 30 years. I was just telling him that we should not go to police station if we lose anything.

Then the rapid action started! I was brought to Assistant Commisioner’s notice directly due to my influence with the journalist people. I met him and explained him about this software. He was quiet impressed with it. I took immediate action and I got my mobile back with 48 hours. Exactly one month I was not having my N70.People are not aware that there is a division in Cyber Crime dealing with mobile theft and other cyber crimes. The mobile was in Thirupur, far away from chennai and AC took spl care to retrieve it back. I was interviewed in Indian Express and Junior Vikatan. It was quiet struggle for me.

Never Ever Give Up! This is what I learned from it. But all these quotes will strike your mind when you have good back up power like I had. This would be my moral.
